A Major Music started out in 2013 in Columbia Mo and we now have teachers in Jeff City and The St. Louis area as well.
When I got my first teaching job in 2007 no one trained me how to teach music lessons and I thought that was crazy.
So over the next 13 years I took music courses at my university, studied music teaching, and always strived to improve my teaching techniques to be the best they possibly can be.
My mechanical and aerospace engineering degree from Missouri university (Mizzou) helped me make planned organized lesson plans and diagnose what the best teaching methods are.
Also not being naturally talented at music helped me become a great teacher too. Music didn't come easy to me, I had to work hard step by step as most of us do.
I've put all my knowledge and skills into training our music teachers making them talented musicians that benefit from my years of teaching experience.
I also built the website that you're on now and the one you log into to take lessons.
That's the reason we've been able to grow and provide our areas with the best lessons!
I'm really excited to be able to start offering online video lessons as add ons to your regular lessons or if you just want to learn about a topic or two.

I started playing music from a very young age and learned from my dad who was also a music teacher.
Taking all the music courses I could during my first degree and being in a touring band gave me the experience and education I needed to start teaching music lessons at a school in St. Louis.
After about 4 years I moved to Columbia MO to get a Mechanical and Aerospace Engineering degree from Missouri University.
I loved the new city and quickly built up students of my own.
Halfway through my engineering degree I got really into entrepreneurship and started A Major Music, where I hired and trained musicians to teach music lessons.
By the time I graduated the school had exponentially grown and I was loving helping other musicians become teachers so much that I decided to go forward with the school instead of getting a traditional engineering job.
I grew A Major into multiple cities and used my technical knowledge to build logical and well formulated lesson plans and processes that gave our school the best quality lessons at the lowest prices in the area.
I strive to keep high quality music lessons affordable for everyone.
The biggest reason we've been able to grow without is that I spent the over 6 years trading all my free time to build a web application that automates the technical side of the business.
It makes it easy for students to sign up online and keep track of their lessons as well as making it easy for our teachers to manage all their lessons.
As a business owner it takes care of all the accounting and taxes which frees up my time so I can improve quality, build new services for our students like video packages, and continue to grow the school.
All my years of experience and all the years of experience from all of our teachers have been pooled together to create these perfect packages for learning Music.
